Mixed-Use Proposal for Gates Circle Design Competition
Competition: 1st Place | Spring 2016
Client: Montante Development | Buffalo, NY
Size: 8.5 Acres
Winning proposal for the Gates Circle Design Competition. Montante Development offered me an internship to further develop concepts from the competition.
The Gates Circle Design Compeititon called for a new vision for a mixed-use infill development proposal on an 8.5 acre site in Buffalo, NY. The newly built Lancaster Avenue that bisects the site, providing an opportunity for a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented mixed use development
Featuring a pedestrian promenade, the concept aimed to invigorate life between the buildings, with an emphasis on public space and the life it creates. The promenade leads into a public square that will serve as a catalyst for activity within Buffalo’s Elmwood Village.
My main contributions were major design decisions, diagrams, and modeling. As the winning proposal, I continued developing design schematics under an internship with the developer, Montante Development
